when i go to nokia software updater? it tells me that the latest firmware is 11.0.021
why doesn`t it work?
i’m in the same position as u from from september and never upgraded. i wont upgrade until i get a excellent report on those updates is 2.0 excellent
I have a question im gonna buy a n97 (:D) but it’s from september and it’s all new. It has the ancient hardware but it is never connected to a computer. What do i have to do to get all the updates and stuff. Answer quick plzz
My N97 no longer connects to my PC at all. It’s done for, my “multimedia computer” is a crippled piece of plastic.
lately I’ve had distress with the charger. It fails to detect it. I guess it’s time to send it back to Nokia

My phone has been repaired for terrible software that didn’t work.. And the actual touch screen didn’t work in a whole week!!
But I haven’t had any of your other problems.. And after this software update (2.0)
It is better then iPhone.

man i have n97 and the same problems
n97 is realy stupid
so slow and sometime i have to restart it when the screen stops …
@mave2dbl07 Yeah man. Sorry to hear. I mean it would be acceptable if Nokia was new in the field of telecommunications, but they’re not, and such errors, specially the design errors are insulting.
I had that problem but with a voice mail, I had no new voice mails and it kept on telling me I had a new one. Took out battery, took out SIM card, turned off and on many times, until it finally went away, weeks later.

my n97 works fantastic have it for 3 months now, sometimes freezes but overall GPS a small slow other than that it works perfectly
mine do the same, not all that u mention but major part of the problems, i have the Black One…
a have this in my nokia 5800 :/

I bought it directly from Nokia, maybe I got a faulty unit, idk, go ahead and answer and post your problems.
Should a 700 dollar phone have such problems? N95’s camera never had flash flood!
Should Nokia have a recall? I believe it should, since many of the N97’s are having manufacturing issues.
My phone’s issues:
-restarts on its own
-the auto lock acts up sometimes
-i have the flash flood problem (Google it N97 flash flood problem)
-the lens cover scratches the camera lens
-the metal around the screen is becoming loose
-freezes and I have to take out the battery in order to get it to work
-GPS is an atrocity
yea i got it, i went in to a Nokia care because the lens on my n97 got scratched by the stupid lens cover and i also complained because of the software problems and when I got it back i had the 2.0 software i even had a branded phone and now it has the generic software
same here.I tried everything pc or phone.. can t upgrade to 2.0… what are people talking about.. if there is a way to update .. please clarify clearly how!!!!
can’t do it neither….whenever i tried to update i get the ancient version….
If you have a network branded phone then you might have to wait or won’t ever be available. That is because your network will customise the phone or won’t be bothered, so if you have an unlocked phone then you probably can update now.
i couldnt do it from the phone when i tryed 2 days ago
how are we supposed to get it now when its not available in the UK? stupid nokia
from phone…. both from *#0000# and from the Software Update app
I just checked via pc, still not available. =/ I have a product code that seems to get everything last. =(
when it got out, it was only available via pc, not sure now
