See how the N900 runs nearly 30 applications at the same time and instantly switches between them. Your desktop PC would nearly stop at this point while the N900 is doing just fine and might as well run twice than that. Questions, comments? Visit My-Symbian.com (and soon My-Maemo.com)

That’s pretty cool but opening apps and actual using them are two different things, I can open a bunch of apps on my phone and it does nothing to the phone but if I really use the apps that I open, that’s when things start to slow down.
For a excellent example look at my Multitasking Vid I have on my Nexus One
@Babyalien83
but this one is bulky and has a resistive screen.
But OS wise, Nokia is starting to get into the game.
@eMiLpR0p thanks! You just made my choice concrete.
I’d say a full day if you use it constantly, like webbrowsing, playing music and sort of multitask all the time. If you use it “normally” (=not hysterically like when you just got it
) it will last anywhere between 2-3 days in my experience, but then i don’t turn it off at night. I reckon I will start turning it of when I go to bed. Anyways, get it! You won’t be disappointed
@eMiLpR0p Hi thanks for the answer, the more i hear from the users the more i want this device. Can you tell me how the battery life is?
I have the N97 and now only 6 months in I am thinking of selling to get this thing.
This is what I was after – N97 specs with a iphone sleek interface.
n900 splode video… =S
Haven’t played with the nexus one, but I can sincerely recommend the N900. I am in like with it. I’ve had it for about 1 month now and it just gets better the more I use it.
@ijaju thanks n900 it is.
Nexus is a smartphone, N900 is an internet tablet with a phone capabilities, which one you need?
=
If you are even a small geek, go to N900, otherwise, nexus one
But if possible – Try before buy!!!
This or the nexus one guys…?
same i just ordered mines like 20min ago next day shipping, cant wait.
i know that the menu is only horizontal (u mixed them up ^^). i’m not worried to find it too huge, i currently have the largest phone ever
the n93, the n900 is smaller than it, so i reckon i will be fine with its size. and i dont phone too much, i prefer sms and using it for browsing…
believe me you will feel ok and its worth it and everything first .. after couple of days you’ll find that its too Heavy, Sometimes the screen freezes on the menu …. sometimes you have to press the dailer icon 3 or 4 times to launch…
you cant view the menu on a Horizontal view ONLY vertical … except the phone ,,, when you use the phone u can switch between the horizontal and vertical view
just give it some time, the most vital apps are already available, some more will come with the time.
afaik nokia is going to produce more maemo-based phones (no further symbian from 2012 on), so i’m pretty sure there will be more than enough apps for maeamo-based phones like the n900.
ps: i ordered my n900 just a few hours ago (:
this phone got very excellent internet stuff ..
very cool browser and email and other stuff .,,,
but im still disappointed about the Ovi store ..
who needs mms? i personally wrote like 5 in my life and that about 2 years ago.
of course thats not a phone for everyone, it’s thought for ppl who like to use mobile internet.
and i dont know what u expect nokia to do, shall they develop a phone with maemo 5 and wait like 2 years to publish it, just to have enough time for 9999 applications? lol.
u rather keep on loading stuff from appstore and let nokia users use “google” to find more than enough stuff. mb thats to hard for apple users.
+ this phone heavy as fuck .. its even havier than the Tmobile G1 !!!!!!
Fuck nokia…. why do u release a phone thats its still not ready yet and needs alot of work …
why the ovi store still not working ..for the n900 .. Imagine .. u have this phone and you are not able to download any apps from the ovi store … r u kiddin me ?
what about the mms … ? a 3g phone with no mms ?
Dont buy this phone now …
buy it at 2011 …
apple still miles ahead
yep, i’m deff gone by it for sure now. Been a die hard Sony Ericsson fan for years, but I quess this will be me first Nokia.
No. 1
i reckon the whole point of the video is to just show how powerful the n900 is
My point exactly. This feature is not a huge deal and it’s not a huge loss if other devices don’t have it. It’s an overrated feature.
In the video he opened all those apps just to show multitask in action. Of course that nobody would open all those apps and leave them opened. Maybe 5, but that’s also a lot for someone. I’m not saying you’re incorrect, just that it’s not possible to use them at the same time. On this phone, on other phones and all the phones that will come out. You could listen to music and play games or chat, but those are the only two things that you can do at the same time.
So you tell me that what I am saying does not make sense. Then tell me what’s the sense of opening all of those apps, wasting battery power, and not being able to use all of them at the same time?!
