Nokia N810 Features

One of the many well loved brands of cellular phones for sale today in the Philippines is the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet. Different onlineĀ  sites have been visited by avid fans of the brand, expecting that a used or second hand Nokia N810 Internet Tablet would be place up for sale because this particular model doesn’t come cheap. So what is the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet? What makes it in-demand not only in the Philippines, but also across the globe?
The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet is an Internet appliance manufactured by Nokia. Announced on 17 October, 2007 at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco, the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet received much anticipation from the public. Despite Nokia’s strong association with cellular products, the N810 is not a phone, but instead allows the user to browse the Internet and communicate using Wi-Fi networks or with a mobile phone via Bluetooth. It builds on the hardware and software of the Nokia N800 with some features added and some removed.
Like all Nokia Internet Tablets, Nokia N810 runs on Maemo, an OS similar to many handheld operating systems that provides a central point from which all applications and settings are accessed,or commonly known as the “Home” screen. The Home screen is divided into areas for launching applications, a menu bar, and a large customisable area that can show information such as an RSS reader, Internet radio player, and Google search.

Difference Between N810 and N800 The Nokia N810 has much in common with the N800 and Internet Tablet OS 2008 will operate on both, but there are some significant differences between the two. Here are the new features in the Nokia N810:

  • Sliding, backlit keyboard
  • Front-facing webcam (replacing pop-out rotating device)
  • Ambient Light Sensor
  • Integrated GPS
  • 256 MB & 2GB integrated internal storage
  • MiniSDHC card slot (replacing two full-size SDHC slots, one internal, one external)
  • Sunlight readable transreflective show
  • Micro-USB (replacing a Mini-USB type B)
  • No longer has an FM tuner

Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition

Another feature that made the Nokia N810 as one of the most well loved cellular phones for sale on the Philippines is its Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition. On 1 April 2008, Nokia announced a WiMAX equipped version of the N810 called the “N810 WiMAX Edition”. This device was to be identical in specifications to the original N810 but includes a WiMAX radio for use initially on Sprint’s Xohm network, and featured a color change from Light Gray to Black, as well as a larger case-back bulge to accommodate the module.
Though the model became a hit, Nokia chose to end the production of their Wimax Edition of the Nokia N810 in January 2009. This is because WiMax’s current coverage area is far too small to sustain a niche device.

endangering the children by violating child labor laws and even child abuse laws. Indeed, the consent form that the parents signed is as creepy as the ones you don’t read before you go into surgery. Even creepier was the scene when two homesick children cried and not one adult had the impulse to drop a camera and offer comfort. Nevertheless, the real distress in Bonanza is not that the cast of mini-survivors was exposed to “serious bodily injury, illness or death.” It’s that the children …

    Wikipedia? You’re kidding, right?

Read the court transcripts. Then question yourself these questions: Why didn’t Mumia ever deny murdering Daniel Faulkner? Why did Mumia’s brother refuse to testify?

Truth is, this guy is a racist, militant, violent scumbag. He couldn’t hold down a job, and was unemployed for 2 years by the time this happened. He was part of GO – a cult that neglects and rapes children, and terrorizes people with racist rhetoric.

This is your poster boy. Pathetic. And SICK.

Ok, I am guessing here, but I like to reckon it is an educated guess. I reckon it should work properly in all countries. With phones the reason it doesn't work is because different countries use difference frequency. And the N810 doesn't connect to any mobile phone network. It only uses Wifi, which should be standardised no matter which country you go to.

    Haha, fuck you Mumia.

“Today, the US Supreme Court rejected Mumia Abu-Jamal’s appeal for a new guilt-phase trial. The Supreme Court has not yet chose whether to consider the Philadelphia DA’s separate appeal, which is attempting to do Abu-Jamal WITHOUT a new sentencing hearing.”
